Week 4

Here we are at week 4 I believe. What have I done differently? I have switched my eating habits around and eating dinner on my first break at school. Yesterday, I exercised for the first time in a long time YEAH!!!! I made my daughter join me because it is spring break and she has become a couch potato. We did 50 minutes of dance moves DVD that I own. It felt good to be exercising again. It has been sooooo long. I always had the idea that if I exercised it had to be during the week and if it wasn't everyday it had to be at least 3 times a week maybe even every other day. Well it finally hit me yesterday that why not make 2 of my days during the weekend on Saturday and Sunday then I only have to try to fit one more day of some kind of exercising during the week. I work weekends also but I am usually less stressed about the clock on the weekends so I know I can fit something in. So no, I have not stepped on the scales because I have been a little disappointed so far but I will push on with this regimen of shaking up my diet and shaking my body and hopefully I will have some good news to report next week.

Where to begin?

Here I am going into week 3 and I have to say with my schedule, it has been harder than I imagined to lose weight. I actually think I gained weight last week. AAGGHHH. The night school is what is killing me. I eat late in the mid morning or say around 12:00 or 1:00 for the first time in the day, then I am trying to eat with my family before I go to night school at 4:00-4:30, having a snack at school at 6:30 and then starving and eating something when I get home at 11:00 p.m. Here lies the fault in that. I am eating 3 times in a very short period of time. Last Thursday I decided not to eat with my family and take my dinner with me to school so that I am eating dinner at 6:30 and trying so hard not to eat anything or anything big when I get home at 11:00. I am still taking the stairs at school (4 flights up) and doing my ab lounger during the day and going to try to incorporate walking around the block a few times on break between work every hour or so if I can. Hopefully this will get the scales started moving which will motivate me to do more. If anybody is out there reading this (doubtful) and has any suggestions, I would be grateful.

First week good or bad?

Well I am not going to lie, it has not been the best first week but mostly because I came down with an awful cold. I did make a few goals for this month at least. I decided not to eat after 7:00 p.m. and to take the stairs at school and try to get up and move every hour from my computer in same way shape or form. It has been getting warm here so I am hoping to start walking around the block every hour just to get moving. That is all the progress I can report. Although there has been a few instances where the scales have budged, I cannot report a true success at least for this week. Here's to a better week this week!

Resolutions.....sort of

Well I know it is not January anymore and I typically hate anything to do with "resolutions," but I find myself now in my early 30's and missing my body from my 20's. On top of that, I have stared back to school again and I realize that going to night school has its ups and downs and hopefully the up does not include my weight. So here is my mission. I am being realistic that I am not going to lose it overnight and with my busy schedule (two jobs, family, and school) there will not be a lot of time for exercising but I am going to prove to myself and anybody else who might actually read this blog that it can be done on even an impossible schedule like mine. I am scheduled to start my internship in just a little over 6 months so I will make my goal time September 15, 2010. By then, I hope to have lost 20 pounds.

Again, I realize nobody may ever read this blog (which actually would save me some embarrassment) but for sake of holding me accountable to something or somebody, I will be blogging weekly about my successes and failures (who are we kidding, i love chocolate so there will be a few failures along the way). So here we go. A six month count down to a 20-year-old body in my 30's and a more healthy and beautiful me to step out into the workforce again.

This is my mission stable so to speak, so on my next post I will give you more background of what I have been doing for the last 10 years leading up to this shape and hopefully (sorry I am going to need a lot of pep talk for this one), hopefully a before picture if I can muster the confidence to do it.

I finished my purse finally. I gave the last one to my mother so I had to get started on a new one for myself. I was carrying around a small brown purse that I had gotten from a thrift store to use the handles off of which are the handles I used here on the purse. Not too bad for 0.99. Can't buy store bought handles for that price. I really like to recycle purses when I can. I actually have one last thing to do it. I chose to use a button closure and I thought I knew what I wanted on this purse but once I had it finished, it just wasn't quite the right look. So I figure I will find the right button soon enough and then it will be complete. We will see how long I get to carry this purse now before I find a new home for it. Thanks for looking.

I couldn't resist posting this big beautiful tree we saw when visiting a friend in Louisiana. It seems like it has a story to say. The things this tree must have seen.
